ஐபிஎல் தொடரின் 38லீக் போட்டியில் கொல்கத்தா நைட் ரைடர்ஸ் அணியும் சன்ரைசர்ஸ் ஹைதராபாத் அணிகள் மோதுகின்றன. இந்தப் போட்டியில் டாஸ் வென்ற ஹைதராபாத் அணி பந்துவீச்சை தேர்வு செய்துள்ளது. இந்த இரு அணிகளும் ஐபிஎல் தொடரில் 16 போட்டிகளில் விளையாடி 10ல் கொல்கத்தா அணியும் 6ல் ஹைதராபாத் அணியும் வென்றுள்ளது. அத்துடன் ஹைதராபாத்தில் நடைபெற்றுள்ள 5 போட்டியில் 2ல் ஹைதராபாத் அணியும் 3ல் கொல்கத்தா அணியும் வென்றுள்ளது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.
ஹைதராபாத் அணியை பொருத்தவரை இந்த ஐபிஎல் தொடரில் இதுவரை 8 போட்டியில் விளையாடி 4ல் வெற்றியும் 4ல் தோல்வியும் அடைந்துள்ளது. கடந்தப் போட்டியில் ஹைதராபாத் அணி புள்ளிப்பட்டியலில் முதலிடத்திலுள்ள சென்னை அணியை வீழ்த்தி நல்ல ஃபார்மில் உள்ளது.

கொல்கத்தா இந்த ஐபிஎல் தொடரில் இதுவரை 9 போட்டிகளில் விளையாடி 4ல் வெற்றியும் 5ல் தோல்வியும் பெற்றுள்ளது. கடந்தப் போட்டியில் பெங்களூர் அணியிடம் கொல்கத்தா அணி 10 ரன்கள் வித்தியாசத்தில் தோற்றது. எனினும் அந்தப் போட்டியில் 200 ரன்கள் விட்டுகொடுத்தும் அதனை கிட்ட தட்ட நெருங்கியது கொல்கத்தா அணி. 
அந்த அணியின் பேட்டிங் சிறப்பாகதான் செயல்படுகிறது. அந்த அணியின் ரஸல் மற்றும் நிதிஷ் ரானா ஆகியோர் சிறப்பாக விளையாடி வருகின்றனர். கொல்கத்தா அணியின் பந்துவீச்சு தான் சற்று மோசமாக உள்ளது. இந்தப் போட்டியில் பந்துவீச்சாளர்கள் சிறப்பாக பந்துவீசினால் கொல்கத்தா அணி வெற்றி பெற அதிக வாய்ப்புகள் உள்ளது.
