பெங்களூர் அணிக்கு எதிரான ஐபிஎல் போட்டியில் டாஸ் வென்ற சென்னை அணி முதலில் பந்துவீச்சை தேர்வுசெய்துள்ளது.
ஐபிஎல் தொடரில் இன்று நடைபெறும் 39ஆவது லீக் போட்டியில் சென்னை சூப்பர் கிங்ஸ் மற்றும் ராயல் சேலஞ்சர்ஸ் பெங்களூர் அணிகள் மோதுகின்றன. இந்தப் போட்டியில் டாஸ் வென்ற சென்னை அணி பந்துவீச்சை தேர்வு செய்துள்ளது. சென்னை அணியில் தோனி காயத்திலிருந்து மீண்டு இன்று களமிறங்குகிறார்.
சென்னை அணி கடந்தப் போட்டியில் ஹைதராபாத் அணியிடம் அதிர்ச்சி தோல்வியடைந்தது. அந்தப் போட்டியில் காயம் காரணமாக கேப்டன் தோனி விளையாடவில்லை. அத்துடன் கடந்தப் போட்டியில் சென்னை அணியின் டூ பிளசிஸ், வாட்சன் மற்றும் ராயுடு தவிர மற்ற வீரர்கள் பேட்டிங்கில் ஏமாற்றினர். இதனால் சென்னை அணி குறைவான ரன்கள் சேர்த்தது. இது சென்னை ரசிகர்களிடையே கடும் ஏமாற்றம் அளித்தது. எனினும் இந்தப் போட்டியில் இந்த மாதிரி சொதப்பாமல் சென்னை அணி சிறப்பாக விளையாடும் எனப் எதிர்பார்க்கப்படுகிறது. அத்துடன் தோனி மீண்டும் அணிக்கு திரும்பியுள்ளது அணிக்கு கூடுதல் பலமாக அமையும் என எதிர்பார்க்கப்படுகிறது.
ராயல் சேலஞ்சர்ஸ் அணி கடந்தப் போட்டியில் சிறப்பாக விளையாடி வெற்றிப் பெற்றது. அந்தப் போட்டியில் சிறப்பாக விளையாடிய கேப்டன் விராட் கோலி சதம் அடித்து அசத்தினார். அதேபோல அந்த அணியில் மோயின் அலியும் சிறப்பாக விளையாடினார். தொடர்ச்சியாக ஆறு தோல்விகளுக்கு பிறகு இரண்டு வெற்றிகளைப் பெற்று பெங்களூர் அணி புத்துணர்வு பெற்றுள்ளது.
இந்த ஐபிஎல் தொடரின் முதல் போட்டியில் இந்த இரு அணிகளும் சென்னையில் மோதின. அதில் பெங்களூர் அணி வெறும் 70 ரன்களுக்கு அவுட்டாகி ஏமாற்றம் அளித்தது. இதனால் இன்று பெங்களூரில் நடக்கும் போட்டியில் அந்த அணி பழிதீர்க்கும் என அந்த அணியின் ரசிகர்கள் ஆர்வத்துடன் எதிர்பார்த்து வருகின்றனர். 
பெங்களூரில் இந்த இரு அணிகளும் 8 போட்டிகளில் விளையாடியுள்ளன. அதில் சென்னை அணி 4 போட்டிகளிலும் பெங்களூர் அணி 3 போட்டிகளிலும் வென்றுள்ளது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.
