முதல்முறையாக தொடரை இழந்தது கோஹ்லி படை; இந்திய ரசிகர்கள் வருத்தம்
இங்கிலாந்து அணிக்கு எதிரான மூன்றாவது ஒருநாள் போட்டியில் 8 விக்கெட் வித்தியாசத்தில் தோல்வியடைந்த இந்திய அணி தொடரையும் 2-1 என்ற கணக்கில் பறிகொடுத்துள்ளது.
இங்கிலாந்து சென்றுள்ள கோஹ்லி தலைமையிலான இந்திய அணி இங்கிலாந்து அணியுடன் மூன்று ஒருநாள் போட்டிகள் கொண்ட தொடரில் பங்கேற்றுள்ளது.
இந்த தொடரின் முதல் இரண்டு போட்டிகள் முடிவில் இரு அணிகளும் தலா ஒரு போட்டியில் வெற்றி பெற்று 1-1 என்ற கணக்கில் சமநிலையில் இருந்த நிலையில் இரு அணிகள் இடையேயான ஒருநாள் தொடரை தீர்மானிக்கும் கடைசி ஒருநாள் போட்டி நேற்று நடைபெற்றது.
இதில் டாஸ் வென்ற் இங்கிலாந்து அணியின் கேப்டன் இயான் மோர்கன் முதலில் பந்துவீச்சை தேர்வு செய்தார்.
இதனையடுத்து முதலில் பேட்டிங் செய்ய களமிறங்கிய இந்திய அணிக்கு கோஹ்லி 71 ரன்களும், தவான் 44 ரன்களும், தோனி 42 ரன்களும் எடுத்து ஒரளவிற்கு கைகொடுத்தாலும் மற்ற வீரர்கள் தங்களது பொறுப்பற்ற ஆட்டத்தின் மூலம் அடுத்தடுத்து விக்கெட்டை பறிகொடுத்து வெளியேறியதால் 50 ஓவர் முடிவில் 8 விக்கெட்டுகளை இழந்த இந்திய அணி 256 ரன்கள் மட்டுமே எடுத்தது.
இதனையடுத்து 257 ரன்கள் எடுத்தால் வெற்றி என்ற மிக எளிய இலக்கை துரத்தி களமிறங்கிய இங்கிலாந்து அணிக்கு அந்த அணியின் துவக்க வீரரான பாரிஸ்டோவ் வெறும் 13 பந்துகளில் 30 ரன்கள் குவித்து அதிரடி துவக்கம் கொடுத்தார். மற்றொரு துவக்க வீரரான வின்ஸ் 27 ரன்கள் எடுத்த போது ரன் அவுட்டானார்.
இதனையடுத்து மூன்றாவது விக்கெட்டுக்கு ஜோடி சேர்ந்த இயான் மோர்கன் – ஜோ ரூட் கூட்டணி இந்திய அணியின் பந்துவீச்சை சிதறடித்து மளமளவென ரன் குவித்தது.
இந்த கூட்டணியை பிரிக்க இந்திய பந்துவீச்சாளர்கள் எடுத்த அத்தனை முயற்சிகளும் தோல்வியிலேயே முடிந்தது. இருவரின் பொறுப்பான ஆட்டத்தின் மூலம் 44.3 ஓவரிலேயே 260 ரன்கள் எடுத்த இங்கிலாந்து அணி 8 விக்கெட் வித்தியாசத்தில் அபார வெற்றி பெற்று மூன்று போட்டிகள் கொண்ட தொடரையும் 2-1 என்ற கணக்கில் கைப்பற்றியுள்ளது .
ஜோ ரூட் 100 ரன்களுடனும், இயான் மோர்கன் 88 ரன்களுடனும் களத்தில் இருந்தனர்.
கோஹ்லி இந்திய அணியின் கேப்டனாக பொறுப்பேற்ற பிறகு இந்திய அணி முதன்முறையாக ஒருநாள் தொடரை இழந்துள்ளது குறித்து சமூக வலைதளங்களில் இந்திய ரசிகர்கள் கவலை தெரிவித்து வருகின்றனர், அதே வேளையில் இந்திய அணியை வீழ்த்திய இங்கிலாந்து அணிக்கு பாராட்டுக்களும் குவிந்து வருகிறது.
